Wine fraudster to return to country for confiscation hearing

A wine fraudster who fled the UK days before he was convicted of running a huge tax fiddle making more than £38m will return to the country in May to face a confiscation hearing. Livio Mazzarello, 62, skipped bail during his Old Bailey trial after sending an email addressed to ‘the most illustrious judge’ claiming he needed to go to Italy to see his mother.
