Woman’s last hours alive caught on CCTV

A predator went behind a wall with an escort at a car park for nearly an hour before she was found dead, a court heard.

Simon Levy, 40, killed Carmenza Trujillo, 53, whose body was found in the stairwell of a derelict building on the Wendover estate in Peckham, southeast London, on 17 March 2025, it is claimed.

Five months later, Sheryl Wilkins, 39, was murdered and her body left in a car park near a B&M store in Tottenham High Road on 24 August 2025.

Jurors have heard that Levy was convicted of two sexual assaults in 2021 and a further 11 offences between April 2022 and May 2025.

Six of those most recent offences occurred in the first five months of 2025 — the same period in which he is alleged to have murdered the two women and attacked a third sex worker.

Levy, who is blind in one eye, denies two counts of murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, non fatal suffocation, and two counts of rape against the sex worker in the car park near his home on 21 January 2025.

DC Adolphus Alexander today (tues) showed the jury CCTV footage relating to the murder of Sheryl Wilkins.

Jurors were shown photographs of Ms Wilkins and Simon Levy and a map showing the B&M car park.

CCTV from 23 August showed Levy leaving his home at 9.25pm before boarding a bus in Shoreditch in the early hours of 24 August wearing a blue North Face waterproof coat with glasses and a black rucksack.

The footage showed him getting off the bus at 12.48am on Tottenham High Road, with Ms Wilkins walking past the bus seconds wearing a crop top and holding a jacket.

It showed them walking in the same direction before meeting briefly outside the B&M car park and going in together.

CCTV from 12.57am showed them walking into a service yard area before going out of view behind the wall of a small bin storage area.

Small movements were seen behind a wall and at 1.37am a car drives past them before leaving again.

Levy came back into view at 1.43am and walked away but stopped and looked back into storage area, appearing to react to what he had seen.

He peered over the wall looking in the direction of the CCTV camera, removed his rucksack and appeared to crouch out of view.

At 1.48am a Ford Focus drove into the Service Yard area, turned round and left, closely followed by a BMW.

Two minutes later Levy was seen walking into view and away from the bin area out of the service yard.

CCTV showed him walking across the car park, arriving back at his home address just after 2am.

At 4.05am a Black Hyundai entered the B&M car park service area, parked opposite where Ms Wilkins was, and then left.

At 6.28am an unmarked police vehicle arrived in the car park and two plain clothed officers got out and approached the body, which was lying on its front with a jacket covering the body and the hood covering the head.

The female officer said ‘hello’ before pulling up the head and touching Ms Wilkins hair and saying ‘I think she’s dead’.

Jurors were shown images of injuries to Ms Wilkins stomach and an image of severe red marks on the hand taken during post-mortem.

DC Alexander said the injuries were not present on the CCTV footage of Ms Wilkins earlier that night.

Levy denies murdering both women. He also denies grievous bodily harm with intent, intentional strangulation and two counts of rape.

The trial continues.
