Baseball bat murder victim ‘was fleecing gangs’

A middle-aged man battered to death after a shopping trip was demanding money from drug gangs, a court heard. Ian Tomlin, 46, had confronted drug dealers hanging around his home and was mercilessly attacked with a baseball bat wrapped in a motorcyle chain and stabbed seven times.
