Secret death report will ‘protect senior officers’

A coroner has agreed that a report by the police complaints body into the death in custody of a mentally ill football coach will remain secret. Kevin Clarke, 35, died at Lewisham Hospital, southeast London, on March 9 last year after he was restrained by up to nine police officers and placed in an ambulance.
