Student plunged 100ft to his death from Whispering Gallery

A student died from severe head injuries after plunging 100ft from the Whispering Gallery at St Paul’s Cathedral, an inquest heard. James Jorge Jose De Sousa Stayton, 19, fell from the gallery, which is a 259 step climb from ground level on April 1. The Queen Mary student was attended to by London Air Ambulance and other paramedics but died at the scene shortly before 4pm.
