A knife-wielding rapist who attacked a 16-year-old

A knife-wielding rapist who attacked a 16-year-old
runaway just a week after being released from prison is back
behind bars for 14 years.

Joesph Kenan, 50, lured the woman back to his flat
and raped her as she tried to beat him with her shoe, the Old
Bailey heard.

It was revealed that he has several previous convictions
including offences of living off immoral earnings.

And just days before the incident he finished an eight year
jail sentence for a serious sex attack on another young girl
(buggery).

Passing sentence, Judge Francis Petre said: ‘When you are
at liberty there is a danger you will cause serious physical or
psychological harm to other people.

‘You made that young girl so hysterical she could barely
stand up.

Your distain for that girl is plain for all to see and
you still blame her.

‘You had only just been released for an offence involving
another young lady.

‘I believe you are a menace to other people.

‘
The victim had run away from home and turned to prostitution
on the streets of Kings Cross to support herself.

Kenan offered to pay for sex on June 16 last year and took
the teenager back to his flat in Cromer Street, Kings Cross.

He then raped her at knifepoint as she tried to beat him off
by ramming the heal of her shoe in his face.

Kenan was so incensed that he smeared the blood that spurted
from his cheek all over her face.

‘She was screaming and shouting out: ‘You bastard’ as he raped
her,’ said prosecutor Sally O’Neill.

Kenan was found guilty of rape by the jury.

The court heard that duing the trial Kenan had tried to hang
himself with a bed sheet at Brixton jail.

Miss Deborah Champion defending told the court that the girl
has since gone back to work as a prostitute and was arrested on the
streets the night before the hearing.
