A security guard for a fast food chain walked free

A security guard for a fast food chain walked free from court today (TUES) after being cleared of fracturing a customer’s wrist.

William Allen, 34, was said to have yanked David Meikle’s arm up his back and thrown him out of a McDonald’s in London for using the ladies’ loo.

Mr Meikle, 27, had claimed Allen was ‘aggressive’ and that he feared for his safety when he was ejected.

Southwark Crown Court had heard that Mr Meikle was at the restaurant in Leicester Square with a female friend in the early hours of July 11 last year when the incident happened.

Mr Meikle, from Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, had used the ladies’ toilet because he felt unwell and the gents’ was closed.

He said burly Allen ordered him to leave, and then twisted his arm up his back and threw him out.

But Allen walked free today after telling the jury he had not put his Mr Meikle’s arm up his back, and did not use unnecessary force to eject him.

Allen, of Green Hill Road, Harrow, Middx, was cleared of causing actual bodily harm.
