Dr Ramesh Kumar Gulati, 58, was later struck off after the GMC found him guilty of serious professional misconduct.
Chairman Professor Kenneth Hobbs told him: ‘Having seen the video we have concluded that the consultation you conducted was wholly inadequate and carried out in a totally inappropriate environment.
‘You failed to substantiate the history or conduct an appropriate examinations to confirm the injuries were genuine.
‘You invented both clinical symptoms and physical signs.
‘
He said he included injuries in almost identical reports for both journalists that simply did not exist.
‘By your dishonest behaviour you have displayed a complete lack of integrity of the type that undermines the trust the public places in the profession.
‘
The GMC directed that his name be erased from the register within 28 days from today.
Earlier Dr Gulati broke down in tears as he accepted his mistakes.
‘There had been a slip up from my end.
I make no bones about it,’ he said.
‘I have to take the blame.
It was because of the pressure of work.
