Gandarillas was struck off after the committee found him guilty of misconduct.
All the allegations against the nurse were found proved.
Committee Chairman Miss Eunice Foster said: ‘The committee has decided to remove his name from the register with immediate effect.
‘We make this decision in the interests of public protection.
‘The code of professional conduct requires each registered nurse to be personally accountable for their practice, to act always in a manner to safeguard the interest and wellbeing of clients and to avoid any abuse of his privileged position with patients.
‘
Gandarillas had not taken a single day off sick since he began work as a staff nurse at Chelsea Hospital in September 1997, the committee heard.
He moved to the endoscopy unit in July 1998 until his departure on April 28, 1999.
Previously the Bolivian had worked as an auxiliary nurse and trained at the Hampstead Hospital School of Nursing, qualifying in 1996.
Counsel for the UKCC, Dru Sharpling, said Gandarillas had not been the subject of other complaints prior to the events in December 1998.
