RABA:POLES WHO LOOTED HEALTH FOOD SHOP IN LONDON RIOTS FACE JAIL
Two Poles who looted a health foods shop during last month’s London Riots are facing jail.
Marcin Raba, 24, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named because of his age, burgled Holland and Barrett in Hackney during the disturbances on 9 August last year.
They entered the store after rioters had earlier smashed their way inside.
The pair appeared in the dock at Wood Green Crown Court today for a plea and case management hearing in their case.
Speaking through an interpreter, Raba admitted burglary, while his teenage co-defendant pleaded guilty in English to the same offence.
Judge Shaun Lyons adjourned sentencing until 19 October this year.
The court heard Raba has previous convictions for assault occasioning actual bodily harm, theft and criminal damage.
Raba, of Turnpike Lane, Hornsey, north London, was remanded in custody, while the youth was granted bail head of sentence.
