Hipster bar attacker avoids jail

A ‘cowardly’ thug was caught assaulting an aspiring actor after the CCTV footage of the attack in a hipster bar appeared on Crimewatch. Richard Bowman, 28, floored Mark Matthews with a punch to the mouth in an unprovoked assault at Covent Garden’s Salvador and Amanda Tapas bar. Bowman escaped justice for almost two years but was arrested after a viewer of the BBC crime show recognised him. The serial offender has a history of ‘opportunistic’ burglaries and other violent attacks….
