A Waterstones branch manager who pocketed £23,500 by abusing the book shop’s loyalty card scheme has escaped jail. Jack Hodges, 28, had worked at the Hampstead High Street branch in north London for five years before succumbing to dishonesty. Bosses spotted sales at the shop were going down and launched an investigation earlier this year.
