Cop faces trial for horrific abuse

A former Met Police inspector accused of carrying out a catalogue of horrific attacks spanning 12 years will face trial in February. John Doyle, 53, previously attached to the Met’s Specialist Firearms Command, faces 17 charges, including wrapping a woman’s face in clingfilm.
