Accused ‘cornflake killer’ of John Mackey denies murder
An alleged robber accused of killing a pensioner for a box of cornflakes and a shepherd’s pie has denied murder. John Mackey, 87, was attacked after he made a trip to his local Co-op to buy food and a newspaper in Goodchild Road, Manor House, north London. His black duffel bag was stolen containing a box of cornflakes, a shepherd’s pie and a newspaper. Mr Mackey was found unconscious and bleeding from his head shortly before 6pm on 6 May….
