Accused Ecclestone raider thought gems were ‘costume jewellery’

A Romanian barman accused of involvement in the £25m raid at Tamara Ecclestone’s mansion claims when he found a pile of gems in the seams of a stolen bag he thought they might be ‘costume jewellery’. Emile-Bogdan Savastru, 30, allegedly helped four burglars who travelled from Italy to break into celebrities’ homes last December.
