Accused of causing deaths of 39 migrants

An accused people smuggler charged with killing 39 Vietnamese migrants, whose bodies were discovered in a lorry trailer in Essex in 2019 has been remanded in custody. Marius Draghici, 49, was detained in Romania in August and appeared at the Old Bailey via video-link from HMP Chelmsford following his extradition.
