Accused rapist in court

An electrician accused of beating and repeatedly raping a woman in her home has been remanded in custody. Ashley Barton, 37, is accused of carrying out a series of sex attacks on the complainant and beating her with a blunt object. The woman was rushed to hospital following the assault, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.
