Accused terrorist Ilyas Akhtar ‘staged supermarket bomb hoax’

A terror suspect accused of setting two fires and planting a fake bomb containing ‘wires, screws and batteries’ at his local Asda has appeared in court. Ilyas Akhtar, 20, is accused of preparing acts of terrorism, possessing information useful to terrorists, two charges of arson with intent to damage and one of causing a bomb hoax.
