Anti-lockdown protestor denies assaulting cops
An anti-lockdown demonstrator has denied attacking two police officers while protesting against coronavirus restrictions. Lester Manners, 54, allegedly assaulted the two constables – named only as PCs Delaney and Lathwood – at a Unite for Freedom rally in Trafalgar Square last September 26. Representing himself and declining to wear a mask in court, Manners, of Brinkworth, Wiltshire, denied two counts of common assault when he appeared at Southwark Crown Court.
