Jail for asylum seeker Mohamed Guemat after he was chased through gardens with stolen watch

An asylum seeker who snatched a drinker’s £7,000 Omega watch in London’s West End before leading him on a 20-minute chase through the back gardens of multi-million pound homes has been jailed for 16 months. Algerian Mohamed Guemat, 30, targeted Sirous Wadia outside At Sloane, in Sloane Square, on October 18 this year. Guemat grabbed Mr Wadia’s timepiece, ‘tearing the strap in half’, as the victim got into an Uber with a friend at around 1am, Isleworth Crown Court heard….
