Bent insurance broker made £300k
An accused ‘ghost broker’ has appeared in court charged with making more than £300,000 through fraudulent car insurance claims. Ikram Rafique, 35, allegedly sold bogus policies to motorists, with the help of his wife, cousin and sister-in-law, between January 2016 and December 2017. His wife Sonia Rasheed, 35, sister-in-law Uzma Naz Rafique, 40, and cousin Mohammad Hamad, 29, all deny helping Rafique to hide the money.
