Builder ‘killed wife and burnt house down’

A builder accused of killing his wife and burning his house down appeared in court today (tues). Thomas Peter, 50, allegedly torched his home in Romford, Esssex, after murdering Karen Peter on the morning of 2 August, it is alleged. Police attended the blaze on Valentines Way, after reports of a disturbance in the area. Mrs Peter, who had three children with Thomas, was pronounced dead at 7.20am.
