Club founder accused of rape claims ‘stitch up’

The founder of a VIP club accused of raping a woman in a seedy hotel room told a fellow director it was a ‘stitch up’, a court heard. Billy Brannigan, 61, who ran the exclusive Cobden Club, allegedly assaulted the woman with then head chef Chris Agathocleous, 55, after she passed out in a single bed in 1997.
