Conviction of speedboat killer ‘should be thrown out’

Speedboat killer Jack Shepherd’s manslaughter conviction should be overturned because of a police blunder, the High Court heard. Shepherd, 31, was jailed for six years after Charlotte Brown, 24, was killed after their champagne-fuelled first date in December 2015. But his lawyer argued that police made a basic error when they failed to caution him before he was interviewed.
