Cyclist ‘knocked down and killed hospital worker’

An Albanian cyclist has gone on trial accused of knocking down and killing a hospital worker. Ermir Loka, 23, allegedly ploughed into Peter McCombie as the 72-year-old HR administrator made his way home from work at the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. Mr McCombie suffered serious head injuries in the July 3 collision in Bow Road and was taken for emergency treatment He sadly died from his injuries eight days later, despite the brave efforts of medical staff.
