Dealers who smuggled cocaine in banana shipments face years in jail

Five drug smugglers who posed as wholesale grocers to import one of Britain’s biggest ever seizures of cocaine inside a consignment of Colombian bananas are facing jail. Police intercepted a delivery of 41 pallets of Colombian fruit containing more than 2.3 metric tonnes of the drug worth £186m at Portsmouth harbour in February 2021.
