‘Devil Baby’ spared jail and ordered to pay Mason Mount £300

A model who called herself ‘Devil Baby’ as she stalked England star Mason Mount after sleeping with him at a party was spared jail and ordered to pay him £300 in compensation.

Orla Melissa Sloan, 22, used 21 different phone numbers to target Mount, 24, left-back Ben Chilwell, 26, and their former Chelsea teammate Billy Gilmour, 21.

Sloan slept with Mount after meeting him at a party at Chilwell’s home and began harassing him when he ghosted her, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.

The social media obsessive admitted stalking Mount and Gilmour, causing serious alarm or distress, and harassment without violence in relation to Chilwell, between January and October 2022.

The fashion influencer has 92,000 followers on Instagram, gaining 11,000 since her first appearance in court last month.

Before stalking the footballers she claims she got a lifetime ban from Asda after she posted a clip on her TikTok of her dancing in her underwear in the bakery aisle.

She raked in £50,000 a year selling nude pictures of herself eating Percy Pigs on adult content platform Fanvue.

Sloan appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today (tues) wearing a white dress and headband with a black top and high heels speaking to confirm her name and address.

She was seen partying in Marbella, Spain on Sunday night on her Instagram story.

Sloan was given a restraining order preventing her from contacting the footballers.

She stood as Alison Gowman, chairing a bench of three magistrates, told her she would not be going to jail.

Ms Gowman described Sloan’s ‘sustained and deliberate attempt to stalk and harass these individuals’.

Sloan was given a 12 week sentence suspended for 18 months and will serve 30 days rehabilitation requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work.

She must pay the millionaire footballers a total of £1,100 in compensation.

Sloan asked her lawyer Michael Cogan to publicly apologise to the three footballers.

Ms Cogan claimed Sloan had been contacted by an ex-girlfriend of Mount who had worked with her and it was that woman who created some of the accounts.

‘Another ex-girlfriend of Mr Mount got in contact with her because she wanted to know how her ex-partner was getting on in his life.

‘This suited Ms Sloan’s interests, in other words they collaborated together.

‘In relation to the accounts some of them were set up with Ms Sloan and some of them by this other person.’

Sloan’s mother, who sat in the back of court and describes herself on Facebook as a Reiki and Shamanic healer, has said her daughter is ‘addicted’ to social media, the court heard.

Mr Cogan said that press intrusion since Sloan appeared in court last month has made her understand how the footballers felt.

He argued Sloan was an ‘enterprising young woman’ who had embarked as a social media influencer and was ‘dazzled’ when she met Mount.

Prosecutor Jason Seetal earlier told the court that all the offences related to professional footballers employed at one point or other by Chelsea football club.

‘In 2021 Mr Chilwell had a party at his residence.

‘He had met a female over Instagram and he had invited her to this party. He also invited her to bring a friend and that was Ms Sloan.

‘While she attended the party she met the other two victims, Mr Gilmour and Mr Mount.

‘Following that interaction Mr Mount and Ms Sloan slept together once.

‘They were in communication for around six months after that following which Mr Mount decided the relationship wasn’t going to progress into anything more and decided to end contact with the defendant.

‘On informing her of this he was subjected to a bombardment of messages and begun asking her to stop messaging him before blocking the number.

‘He then began to receive messages from a new number. Each time he blocked a number he would receive messages from a new number.

‘He has been contacted by at least 21 different numbers.’

The court heard a WhatsApp message from October 2022 from an account named ‘onlygod10’ read: ‘I found out about Jennifer, Esme, Hope, Jessy and more. I will find out everything.’

She sent him a screenshot of her purchasing a new phone number saying: ‘I’m not buying food anymore so I can get more numbers.

‘I will be faster than you.’

Sloan sent another message saying: ‘Hey Mason it’s Orla, I know you blocked me because I messaged Callum, I really want to say sorry to you.

‘I’m finding it really hard to move on. You must accept my apology and say sorry or you will meet a new character called devil baby.

‘Beware of devil baby Mason I can morth any second so let me apologise and make things right.’

She also told him ‘You and Ben will be destroyed.’

On an Instagram account named devilbaby_10 Sloan posted photos of Mount with other women, tagged people he knew and called him a criminal.

She also contacted other football players and Mount’s friends and family making allegations about him.

In an impact statement read to court Mount said: ’I have repeatedly made it clear to her I no longer wish to hear from her and I have blocked her on multiple occasions and I believe this was a clear message.

‘I now believe she has an obsession and fixation with me and I don’t know what she would be capable of.

‘She knows my address and the address of my training centre.

‘Her behaviour has been erratic and I am worried that now she is unable to contact me she might turn up at the training centre and that is why I have now contacted the police.

‘I’m worried her persistent attempted to contact anyone I follow will ruin friendships and potential relationships.’

Chilwell began to receive messages from Sloan relating to Mount’s blocking of her.

He then received collages of pictures of himself with other women from the devilbaby_10 account.

In photo captions she claimed she had gone through an abortion before being blocked after a few months.

A post also referred to ‘Gary Lineker’s list of closeted gay players’ and referenced players having gay sex.

Chilwell also messaged Sloan asking her to leave her alone and he too was concerned as she knew where he lived and trained and he was worried about what she might do.

Gilmour also began receiving messages about Mount, and eventually told Sloan he did not want further contact.

She tagged the Brighton midfielder’s friends and family in a post saying: ‘I almost got pregnant from Billy and look what Billy has done to me with multiple girls behind my bag.

‘I had to have an abortion as he didn’t want the baby.’

Mr Seetal said Sloan had never slept with Gilmour and these comments were fictious.

She messaged him saying ‘It doesn’t matter that you changed your name on your private Instagram Billy, I will hunt you down.’

She said Gilmour had left her ‘just as Maria left Jesus’.

She messaged his aunt and said: ‘Billy Gilmour is a bad, bad, boy, he slept with me and then never spoke to me again.’

Sloan told him he would be attacked if he went home to Scotland, the court heard.

‘Mr Gilmour had moved from Chelsea to Brighton and was in a location he didn’t know so well and was more isolated from his friends and family.

‘He raised concerns with the club who put safety measures in place.’

In a statement read to court Gilmour said: ‘Persistent contact targeted not only at myself but my friends and family has had a negative impact on me.

‘I have not been able to sleep and have been taking sleeping tablets.

‘There was a period of time when there were constant notifications of messages and being alone in a new town this has really unsettled me.

‘I felt panic every time I received a notification. This was a person I met once and exchanged a few messages with, we were never in a relationship and I very clearly wasn’t interested in one.

‘This has damaged friendships and relationships, I don’t know who I can trust anymore as some of the information she included is only known by people close to me,

He was forced to distance himself from friends and family, the court heard.

Sloan admitted to police she had bombarded Mount and said she was upset he had ignored her.

She admitted making up the pregnancy claims.

Sloan has no previous convictions, the court heard.

Mr Cogan said: ‘It takes courage to plead guilty to an offence when you know as a result of doing that you may go to prison.

’It takes particular courage for someone who is 22 and of previous good character.

‘It is accepted that some of the messages, particularly those sent to Mr Gilmour, were distressing and more importantly untrue.

‘This whole thing began when Ms Sloan met Mr Mount at a party. As you’ve heard there was a very short sexual relationship. Unfortunately Ms Sloan thought there was rather more to it than that.

‘The reality was as far as Mr Mount was concerned he never intended it to be a lasting relationship.

‘For someone like Ms Sloan she felt somewhat discarded and she wanted to know why.

‘She thought there was something there in circumstances where everyone else knew there was nothing.

‘She had been sucked into a world of instant gratification achieved only by being seen with other more people more successful than herself.

‘As a result of that she obsesses over the way she looks and how she feels other people view her.’

Mr Cogan said that before Covid the influencer had a dispute at home causing her to move in with her father in an isolated area.

‘Covid had stuck and this young lady’s isolation became complete.

‘At the first available opportunity she left to come to London, the first major city she had ever been in and at such a young age with no friends you have to make them yourself.

‘She’s an enterprising young woman, she’s not lazy, she decided to embark as what’s known as a social influencer.

’It was in that context that she came to meet Mr Mount. For her it must have been quite dazzling,

‘For Ms Sloan superficial social connections have greater importance and replace the harsh reality of life.’

Sloan, of Iris Avenue, Exeter, Devon, also has 20,800 followers on TikTok, where she posts about dating and relationships.

Her Instagram page states she is an ambassador for Fashion Nova, a Los Angles based online fast fashion retailer, and she posts photos from London, Mykonos and Bali, Indonesia.

Sloan was sentenced to 12 weeks in jail suspended for 18 months.

She will serve 30 days rehabilitation requirement and 200 hours of unpaid work.

She must pay compensation of £500 to Gilmour and £300 each to Mount and Chilwell.

Sloan was also given a restraining order preventing her from contacting the footballers directly or indirectly for five years.
