Father admits murdering seven-year-old daughter

An antiques dealer who strangled his seven-year-old daughter to death with a dressing gown cord has admitted murder. Robert Peters, 56, throttled little Sophia for more than 20 minutes with a dressing gown cord as she lay in bed in their £1m home in Raynes Park, southwest London, last 3 November. After phoning police to report what he had done, he told detectives he had been planning to kill his family for weeks but could not go through with it….
