Former officer denies concealing crates of ‘axe murder’ evidence

  A senior police officer involved in the botch investigation into the axe murder of a private eye today (Mon) angrily denied concealing crate loads of evidence from the suspects’ defence barristers. Daniel Morgan, a partner in Southern Investigations, was found an axe buried in his head in the carpark of the Golden Lion pub in Sydenham, southeast London, in 1987. No one has ever been successfully prosecuted for the crime, despite five separate inquiries costing the taxpayer £50 million….
