Friend of Leon Brittan’s brother conned him of a fortune

A ‘trusted friend’ of Sir Samuel Brittan is facing arrest for allegedly conning the renowned author out of a fortune. Michelle Brathwaite, 46, allegedly tried to obtain £96,000 on the writer’s American Express card and take £93,500 from his Coutts account between 1 August last year and 30 April.
