Gritter killed motorcyclist with illegal U-turn

A gritter lorry driver ran over and killed a motorcyclist by doing an illegal U-turn at night opposite a police station, a court heard. Peter Wright, 45, ignored two ‘No U-turn’ signs and failed to slow down before swinging his truck into a gap in the central reservation.
