Halls of residence killer to face trial in July

An alleged killer charged with murdering his girlfriend in her halls of residence will face trial in July. Maher Maaroufe, 23, had been in a relationship with City University psychology undergraduate Sabita Thanwani, 19, before the killing in Clerkenwell, central London. Police were called to Arbour House in Sebastian Street on 19 March last year and found Ms Thanwani in her room lying underneath the duvet with serious injuries.
