Helper ‘gave spy Daniel Khalife £400’

Former soldier Daniel Khalife was taken to a cashpoint and given £400 by a ‘helper’ following his jail breakout, a court heard. Khalife, 23, sparked a nationwide manhunt when he escaped HMP Wandsworth using bedsheets to strap himself to the underside of the lorry in September 2023. Prison guards had searched the truck when he vanished but managed to miss the fugitive dangling underneath. He was recaptured riding a stolen bike along a canal towpath in Chiswick three days later….
