Jail for estate agent who rented out other people’s Airbnbs
An estate agent who fleeced desperate tenants of £200k by renting them Airbnbs as long term lets has been jailed for four years and four months. Frenchman Samy Daim, 28, advertised luxury properties he did not own, collected substantial deposits from his victims and then disappeared. Daim defrauded eleven victims including teenage students, out of £213,180 in just 14 months. He asked for up to a year’s rent upfront along with a 25 percent deposit before vanishing with the cash….
