Let-off for bogus accountant who swindled trainees
A company director swindled trainee accountants out of £80,000 in a ‘mean and nasty little trick.’ Wemba Akobola, 39, defrauded applicants for junior trainee accountant positions, persuading them to part with so-called ‘training fees’ of between £500 and £1,200. Akobola posted job advertisements on the company’s website, offering jobs with a salary of £20,000-£25,000 per year at his company Tshovo Accountancy Services Limited.
