Loving son escapes jail for ‘mercy killing’ of his frail mother

A loving son who smothered his 89-year-old mother to ‘give her release’ from dementia has been set free with a suspended sentence. Kevin Pearce, 60, killed Eileen Pearce in the family home in Barton Close, Bexleyheath on 5 June 2021.
