Man in court over Romford murder

A murder suspect accused of battering a man to death in the street in east London has been was remanded in custody. Richard Laurent, 46, allegedly attacked 61 year-old Derek Bailey in Romford on 17 March this year. Mr Bailey, who lived in Romford, was found collapsed in Maple Street by a member of the public at 6.40am that day. He was pronounced dead at hospital at 8.40am.
