A Met Police sergeant has been cleared of failing to investigate allegations made against a colleague who became one of Britain’s worst serial rapists. DS Ray Mackennon oversaw the misconduct investigation into David Carrick, who worked within the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection (PaDP) branch as an armed officer from 2009 until his arrest in 2021.
