Mining company paid vast bribes across Africa

A mining company paid more than £20m in bribes to secure preferential access to oil across Africa, a court heard. Glencore Energy admitted seven bribery charges in its operations in Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and South Sudan. The Serious Fraud Office began investigating the company in in December 2019.
