Minister knew of allegations against SAS troops

Veterans minister Johnny Mercer was a serving member of the Defence Select Committee when he was told by a ‘friend’ that elite troops were killing Afhan males who posed no threat, an inquiry heard. Mercer, 42, said he knew of ‘serious allegations’ that British soldiers were carrying out summary executions in war-torn Afghanistan.
