Obsessed chemist blew himself up in home laboratory

An obsessed amateur chemist blew himself up with the explosives he made in his home laboratory, a court heard. Matthew Haydon, 48, wrote to Jim’ll Fix It as a child asking if he could throw a hand grenade. He set up the lab in at the home in Loring Road, Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, he shared with his mother.
