PR boss faces jail for House of Lords scam
A PR boss is facing jail after he helped himself to £250,000 of Police Federation money to spend on gambling sites. Christopher McEvoy, 45, falsely claimed some of the money had gone to peers including Baroness Ruth Henig and Lord Gordon Wasserman. McEvoy, the sole director of Thornhill Public Affairs Limited, transferred large sums of money from the political lobbying firm’s account into his own.
