Preacher in court for hate crimes

A preacher has appeared in court accused of giving sermons encouraging support for Islamic State. Kamran Sabir Hussain, 39, faces eight terror-related offences in connection with his work at a mosque in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent. He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in a grey prison-issue tracksuit wearing wire-rimmed spectacles and spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address. Hussain smiled and made the peace sign to his brother sitting in the public gallery as he entered the dock….
