Prisoner killer cellmate with TV for praying too loud

A Ukrainian prisoner who battered his cellmate to death with a TV for keeping him awake with loud praying has been jailed for at least seven-and-a-half years. Taras Nykolyn, 46, smashed the set over the head of 66-year-old Egyptian Wadid Barsoum as he awaited trial for a random attack on a passer-by. Nykolyn was being held at HMP Wandsworth after chasing and repeatedly punching 51-year-old walker Roger Maxwell on Wimbledon Common in south London. He was classed as ‘standard risk’…
