Robber knifed shopkeeper who tried to defend family with lottery sign

  A masked robber who stabbed a shopkeeper in revenge when he tried to protect his family business by battering him with a lottery sign has been jailed for more than nine years. Suntharalingham Socklingham grabbed the advertising board when David Smith, 21, and two 14 year olds burst into the shop in Carr Road, Walthamstow, east London, demanding cash.
