Romanian ‘slave drivers’ are cleared
Five members of a Romanian family accused of forcing labourers to live in squalor while working as slaves have been cleared on the judge’s direction. Viorel Lupu, 49, and his wife Victorita, 51, were cleared of conspiracy to force compulsory labour and conspiracy to transport of others with a view to exploitation.
