Son burned mother to death

A son murdered his mother by setting fire to their north London home, the Old Bailey heard. Joel Ellis, 35, allegedly torched 59-year-old Beatrice Yankson’s flat in Mingard Walk, Islington last 26 October. Arsenal fan Beatrice died in the blaze and Ellis was left with severe injuries, the court heard today (fri).
