Student nicked thousands of quid to buy trainers

A university student swindled Sainsbury’s in a £16,600 gift card scam and blew the money on trainers, a court heard. Jerome Lee, 22, defrauded the supermarket giant by tampering with voucher codes between July 2018 and May last year.
