Taliban bombmaker ‘intercepted before carrying out Westminster knife attack’

A Taliban bomb-maker returned to the UK to launch a deadly knife attack ‘at the very heart of this country’s democracy’, a court heard. Khalid Mohammed Omar Ali, 28, was planning to stab police officers and politicians when was intercepted by armed officers just yards from Downing Street on 27 April last year. Security footage showed Ali travelling from Ealing through Victoria to Westminster where Khalid Masood mowed down pedestrians and hacked a policeman to death just four weeks earlier….
