Tax lawyer accused of castle fraud

A tax lawyer who worked for the creditors of controversial late businessman Scot Young appeared in court on fraud charges relating to the purchase of a famous castle. Stephen Jones, 61, is accused of defrauding Discovery Land Company in a private prosecution brought by the US property developer. Jones had acted for the firm in its planned $14m (£11.5m) acquisition of historic Taymouth Castle in Perthshire, where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert stayed on their honeymoon.
